£11.98 per hour
Various hours and working patterns are available
38 weeks per annum, paid for 43.13 weeks per annum

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support team at Abingdon & Witney College are expanding our Learning Support Assistant team at our Common Leys Campus and we are therefore looking to appoint professional, energetic and enthusiastic people with excellent communication skills to support our students in a variety of learning environments for the educational year.
A good working knowledge of Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs), with a good knowledge of and/or experience of working with young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), as well as strategies for other SEN supported needs, training will also be provided.
Experience working with Profound and Multiple Learning Disability (PMLD) and supporting with personal care needs is beneficial but not an essential requirement.
These are varied roles and require dedicated individuals who enjoy working with young people, some of which have complex needs.
You will possess the skills to support students studying from Entry Level to Level 3, enabling the students to succeed and achieve their full potential academically.
The successful candidates will be responsible for working closely with teaching and cross college support staff to ensure that all students progress onto further programmes of study, or employment by achieving all elements of their study programme including maths and English, as well as developing skills essential for life and independence.
The role involves working with students on a 1:1 basis, providing classroom and pastoral support and facilitating workshop activities in-group situations.
We work with amazing young people who have a range of learning and support needs, every day is different, and the support needs will vary.
