The duties of the Trainee Electroplater include: Proven ability to understand and interpret process standard practices, drawings and overhaul manualsAbility to undertake Material Handling to include Slings and JigsAbility to undertake surface preparation by Grit Blasting techniques Ability to undertake component stripping, surface preparation, masking and electro plating of components requiring Cadmium platingAbility to undertake Alocrom processesAbility to complete work in a manner that satisfies Health, Safety and Environmental requirementsAn awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company's environmental proceduresResponsible for actions related to the COMAH emergency plan and any other requirements necessary to comply with the implementation of the COMAH planYou will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) bookYou may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experienceAll duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures The ideal Trainee Electroplater should meet the following requirements: Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalentAbility to communicate fluently in written and spoken EnglishIllustrate previous knowledge and experience working within an engineering facility Good knowledge, awareness and understanding of PPEPrevious use of overhead cranes and forklifts would be desirable, but not essentialDesirable for the applicant to have worked within the aviation environment (not essential)Able to use their own initiativeGood communicatorGood planning, organisation and administration skills, PC literateThe position shift pattern is 4 on 4 off which will require flexibility in working hours including working weekendsCandidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestrictedFull Training will be provided and Mandatory Training will be requiredPhysical Requirements:- The job requires the applicant to stand for a prolonged amount of time with a number of breaks throughout the day- The position and process involves lifting heavy aircraft components
