Role: Teaching Assistant Location: Paignton Contract: Full time, temporary (opportunity to make permanent) Salary: Starting at £14.45 per hour Long-Term Teachers work with a fantastic specialist education provision that supports children aged 11 - 16 who have struggled in mainstream education.
All students have an EHCP associated with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
They are constantly seeking a resilient, passionate and dedicated teaching assistant to join their team.
Key responsibilities: Providing general classroom support, in addition to 1:1 support and small group interventions when required Support the teacher with lesson preparation and supervision, including gathering resources and setting up activities Promote the safeguarding of all children, ensuring they feel safe and well supported Manage behaviour effectively and meet students needs in line with their EHCP's Support the students overall access to the curriculum About you: Previous experience working with children in the UK, whether this is with early years, primary or secondary Strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support young people Resilient, adaptable and hard working Good sense of humour Willingness and desire to further develop your skill set and knowledge Flexible and willingness to change plans at short notice It is also key that you are reporting regularly to the class teacher and senior leadership team, to monitor students progress.
You will be expected to report and record evidence of pupil progress and achievement.
In addition to this, it is paramount that you inform the teacher or lead of any safeguarding concerns.
This role is perfect for university students, experienced TA's looking for a new challenge or anyone wanting to work around their current schedule.
You will be working term time only , Monday - Friday , typically between the hours of 9am - 3pm (finishing at 2:30pm on Fridays).
