Job DescriptionStrategic Radio Planning and Design EngineerThis is a great opportunity for an experienced Strategic Radio Planning and Design Engineer to be involved in the planning of UK critical infrastructure radio projects to support the UK security of electricity supply within the Telecommunications team and support the Radio and wider Telecoms teams.Your role as Strategic Radio Planning and Design Engineer will give you the opportunity to take responsibility of the Planning and Design of digital and analogue radio systems, providing system level designs to satisfy the operational needs of the business.Key responsibilities for this Strategic Radio Planning and Design Engineer role:Design and PlanningHealth and SafetyProcurementPolicy DocumentationRequirements for this Strategic Radio Planning and Design Engineer role:HNC- Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.Excellent IT skills.Proven leadership skills & responsibilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven experience on network design of RF systems within a commercial, substation or equivalent environment.Experience in design, build and maintenance of LTE networks at an RF levelProven record of contractual, commercial, and financial aspects of procurement processes.Experience of working with planning authorities particularly Class G of Part 17 to Schedule 2 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995).Ability to demonstrate a high degree of commercial awareness to system design and the impact of services offered.Must hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel in the UK region although the majority of travel will be in the North West.Good knowledge of Analogue and Digital radio systems including awareness of MPT1411, MPT1327, point to point and point to multipoint communication systems.
Including installation, testing, and commissioning.Sound understanding of radio propagation theory and modelling.Antenna design and implementation principles.Package offered for this Strategic Radio Planning and Design Engineer role:£70,000 - £77,800 per annumBonus 10% of base salary (performance based)26 days holiday plus bank holidays (holiday entitlement increases by 1 day per completed year of service up to 30 days)Company car or cash allowance of £3,900 per annumMembership of a defined contribution pension scheme with employee contributions between 3 – 7% and the company doublesEmployee assistance programmeAccess to a rewards platform offering a range of discounts across retail / leisure / hospitality and more.
