Job summary Job Purpose&Main Duties and Responsibilities: We are looking to recruit a full-timefloatWard Clerk ( Hours p/w - Monday to Friday - 08:00 - 16:00TBC).
Theroleof theFloatWard Clerk is vital to the BRHC as you will play an importantrolein ensuring high standards of administrative governance on a variety of our inpatient wards.
You will be required to be the first point of contact on the ward(s) so a friendly and welcoming demeanour and calmness under pressure are essential for thisrole.
Responsibilities will include acting as the patient's first point of contact on the ward(s), greeting and signposting patients and relatives, processing patients using CareFlow, liaising with colleagues to facilitate a smooth and timely stay with the hospital and sending out patient information.

The maintenance of paper and electronic records is also a key element of this role.
You will be responsible for setting high standards of patient care by enacting the Trust's core values at all times.

Person Specification Aptitudes Essential Excellent communication skills Capable of working with minimal supervision Highly organised Empathetic attitude to staff and patients Knowledge & Experience Essential Experience using Microsoft Office Desirable Previous experience of customer-facing work in a healthcare or public setting Previous NHS experience Experience using hospital-based IT systems Clerical/administration experience Experience of using CareFlow Qualifications Desirable Two GCSEs or equivalent (Preferably English and Maths) Skills & Abilities Essential Flexible approach to duties Attention to detail Ability to work within a team Ability to work independently Desirable Able to communicate clearly and act quickly in emergency
