Job summary The Children's Bladder and Bowel Service is an innovative and progressive service, that provides specialist care, treatment, support and advice to children (and their families) within Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) under the supervision of the Specialist Nurses.An enthusiastic, flexible, warm and reflective practitioner who is committed to ongoing development of their skills and knowledge, is required to join the Children's Bladder and Bowel Service, to maintain the excellent standards of the service.The service is delivered in a variety of settings including family homes, children centres, health centres/clinics and other community facilities.Previous applicants need not apply Main duties of the job You will work under the supervision of the Specialist Nurses and Team Lead You will provide support and assistance to the Specialist Nurses in the continence assessment process You will provide education and training to early years settings (children's centres, pre-schools and nurseries) and educational settings (schools) to promote healthy bladders and bowels You will provide support for children/parents of children who have not achieved continence and who are experiencing difficulties with toilet training.
You will work in partnership with families, delivering a variety of evidence-based interventions that promote continence, taking into account the emotional and developmental needs of the child You will act as a resource to parents and children, carers, professional and non-professional staff You will work within the wider team to develop and progress the service About us Ever dreamt about a career that sparks excitement and fosters your professional growth?

Person Specification Qualifications Essential NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and Education, BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Early Years, Diploma in Childcare and Education or equivalent Experience & Skills Essential Evidence of an ability to work flexibly and be adaptable according to service and service users needs Experience of team working as well as the ability to work autonomously Evidence of an understanding of child development and the acquisition of continence, and an awareness of the difficulties of bladder and bowel dysfunction Good communication and interpersonal skills in a variety of situations Evidence of basic IT skills Desirable Experience working in a similar community role, and using electronic patient systems such as EMIS Awareness of the treatment and interventions for children with bladder and bowel dysfunction and support organisations (eg.
ERIC) Experience managing a caseload Knowledge and experience of working with children and young people
