Senior Programme Manager Dental Services

Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to lead development and delivery of our dental strategy for improved Dental Services.
As part of a dynamic and dedicated Primary Care team this role will ensure that primary care dental services are represented and participate in service redesign across the system and work closely with system partners in the development of primary care services.

Main duties of the job This role will be responsible for overseeing the performance and recovery plan for primary, community and secondary care dental services working with the commissioning hub.
The post holder will be responsible for managing the dental budget and investment plan.
Working closely with the commissioning hub this role will support procurement of local dental services and ensure timely decision making and contract changes.
The postholder will lead service improvement projects in collaboration with patients, stakeholders, and clinicians, to build patient centred and high-quality services that are sustainable, cost effective and focused on improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities.
The post is responsible for providing professional expertise to support these outcomes and provide advice, guidance and highly complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and deliver activity accordingly.

Job description Job responsibilities To carry responsibility for developing policy and procedurein the area the job holder is currently working on at a point in time, including briefings, commissioning, business or resources.
Responsible for proposing and drafting changes, implementation and interpretation to policies, guidelines and service level agreements (SLAs) which may impact within Department or Directorate.
Champion equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and ensure that activities take account of EDI requirements.
The post holder will be required to communicate and provide highly complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Commit to working and engaging constructively with internal and external stakeholders on a range of contentious issues.
To operate in a highly political and sensitive environment.
Assist with public relations and marketing activities.
Person Specification Knowledge, Training and Experience Essential Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent.
Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHSE, the ICB and individual provider organisations.
Communication Skills Essential Developed communication skills for delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders both internal and external (including outside the NHS) to the organisation, some at very senior level.
Good presentational skills for conveying complex concepts.
Ability to use informed persuasion to influence others.
Analytical Essential Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues and create solutions and to resolve problems in relation to project or service delivery.
Ability to understand a broad range of complex information quickly and making decisions where opinions differ/no obvious solution.
Planning Skills Essential Evidence of planning and delivering programmes and projects and services on time.
Management Skills Essential Abilities for financial and staff management.
