Brief Description
Are you passionate about driving business success through strategic HR? Can you lead and influence change in a dynamic, collaborative environment? If so, join our Southern Region HR Team as our new Senior HR Business Partner!
Based at London Blackfriars, as a Senior HR Business Partner, you will lead a team of two HR Business Partners and one HR Business Partner Support, all dedicated to proactively identifying, planning, and addressing people needs that align with our business goals. You'll provide strategic HR support for our Sussex Route Maintenance Teams while collaborating closely with the broader HR team to drive regional initiatives that enhance performance.
We are able to offer you the flexibility of hybrid working, with the requirement to be in the office 2/3 days a week.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic HR Leadership: Shape and implement our People Plan, focusing on talent management, succession planning, and fostering a high-performance culture.Business Partnership: Build strong relationships with senior leaders, offering coaching, advice, and co-developing impactful, long-term people initiatives.Change Management: Act as a champion of change, guiding and supporting HR-led change programs while gaining critical stakeholder buy-in.Employee Relations: Manage key trade union relationships in conjunction with our Employee Relations team.HR Ownership: Empower business leaders and managers to take ownership of people management through the HR Business Partner model.Collaborative Influence: Partner with Centres of Expertise to shape policies and strategies aligned with business needs.Service Improvement: Drive HR service excellence by working with HR Shared Services, HR Direct, and fellow HR Business Partner teams.Cross-Business Collaboration: Collaborate on initiatives that span geographical boundaries, fostering unified HR solutions across the business.Key Skills, Experience, and QualificationsEssential: Commercially minded HR professional with a solid grasp of business needs and challenges.Proven experience partnering with senior leaders to advance people strategies and business outcomes.Strong customer service orientation with demonstrated achievements in supporting business goals.Skilled at influencing, coaching, and building strong relationships with senior leaders.Deep technical HR knowledge (CIPD qualification or equivalent experience) and the ability to build credibility quickly.Extensive experience in talent development, change management, and fostering high-performance cultures.Effective communicator and negotiator with experience engaging stakeholders across all levels.Broad expertise in managing organizational change programs (e.g., TUPE, organizational redesign, redundancy).Desired: MCIPD or post-graduate qualification in HR.Experience in a unionized environment.Familiarity with project management principles and handling complex projects.Why Join Us?
