To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Senior Compliance Counsel in the Legal Department to join us in our Global Commercial HQ based in London.
Summary: Lotus is looking for a Senior Compliance Counsel to join our dynamic Legal team in Central London, working closely with our Global Legal Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead compliance practices across multiple regions, including APAC, MEA, the UK, Europe, and the US.
What you'll do: Regulatory Expertise: Collaborate with the Head of Legal & Compliance to enhance awareness of the company's regulatory obligations, including public listed company listing rules and regulatory requirements (e.g., Nasdaq).
Advisory & Training: Provide day-to-day compliance advice and training to all business areas, ensuring a deep understanding of regulatory guidance and rule requirements.
Regional Strategy Implementation: Lead the execution of the Regional Legal & Compliance strategy across multiple jurisdictions, achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring compliance across APAC, MEA, UK, Europe, and the US.
Policy Development & Risk Mitigation: Develop, review, and implement regional compliance practices, including education, monitoring, enforcement, and risk mitigation through robust policies and procedures.
Regulatory Change Management: Proactively research and monitor regulatory changes, advising the business on how to respond and adapt.
Global Coordination: Work closely with local legal & compliance teams, subsidiaries, external counsel, and regulatory bodies to manage audits, complaints, and regulatory inquiries on a global scale.
What you'll bring: Legal Expertise: A member of a law society or accredited bar organisation and proven experience in a similar position.
Specialised Knowledge: In-depth understanding of public listed company listing requirements (e.g., Nasdaq) and experience leading implementation of global/regional compliance programmes.
Corporate & M&A Expertise: A background in M&A, corporate law, or working with publicly listed companies is essential.
Strong Communicator: Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Organised & Efficient: A self-starter who can manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively, with a keen eye for detail.
International Experience: A proven track record of working in an international corporate environment.
Experience as an in-house lawyer within a corporate group is highly preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in the automotive sector is an advantage.

This role will be Hybrid working, however there will be an expectancy to work a minimum of 3 days per week in the London office - EC1V Frequent travel might be required to visit different entities.
