The Job Legal and Compliance are partners across the whole business here at Flo.
They watch over everything: Flo's privacy programme, compliance with regulatory obligations, contract management, IP enforcement… you name it.
The team's divided into three groups - Privacy & Data Protection, Regulatory & Compliance, and Legal Services, each managing its own area.
This senior position in our compliance function offers a unique opportunity to shape compliance awareness and lead risk mitigation efforts for Flo's most innovative projects, including exciting advances utilising AI.
Sitting alongside our Privacy and Legal Services teams, this role covers all compliance outside of Privacy, and performs an important cross-functional role, partnering with product, security, science, marketing, medical, and other teams to integrate compliance into the core of Flo's operations.
As part of a team of four, and reporting to the Head of Compliance you'll gain deep insights into our product and help build trust through best-in-class compliance practices.
This is a high-impact role, instrumental in advancing Flo's product compliance, corporate governance, and ESG projects.
Your Experience Must have: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law.
Qualified lawyer with strong relevant work experience (usually 5 years' PQE).
Proven track of work with tech companies, or in-house with a software product focussed organisation.
Knowledge of consumer regulations in the EU and in the USA.
Proven to be proactive, results-oriented, and well-organised.
Strong English language communication skills, both written and oral (C1+ CEFR).
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and manage multiple projects, including strong time management skills to manage multiple competing priorities.
Proven experience working flexibly to meet changing priorities.
Background showing an ability to challenge and influence others.
Nice to have: Previous experience in healthcare preferred, especially in medical devices or wellness applications.
Knowledge of FTC/ASA rules for marketing and advertising compliance.
Experience with AI governance.
Knowledge of Apple Store and Google Play guidelines.
Experience working with subscription-based B2C products.
Knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
Knowledge of agile methodologies.
What you'll be doing You'll be responsible to: Provide compliance advice to the business (e.g., product teams, marketing, and content creators) regarding the rules, regulations, and internal policies applicable to the company.
Support the company's AI and health initiatives, such as symptom checker and chatbot features.
Support the company's commercial objectives, such as pricing and onboarding experiments, and payments and checkouts.
Assist in the development and maintenance of processes and procedures, including regular compliance reporting and risk assessment.
Proactively partner with internal stakeholders to ensure that compliance principles are embedded into the organization.
Review new features, such as a wide range of articles, marketing emails, and other pieces of content, identifying compliance risks and proposing improvements.
Support the development of corporate governance initiatives such as our compliance training program and ESG strategy.
Draft or take part in drafting internal policies and procedures.
You'll be targeted on: Help the team deliver more than 80% of our quarterly OKRs; Help improve awareness of our compliance program throughout the organization.
Help the team meet our SLAs, such as delivering certain marketing reviews within 24 hours.
