Our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries.
We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.
The Royal Opera House describes the place we work, not who we are.
The whole is always more than the sum of its parts - we may be a House, but three quarters of our audience experience what we do outside this building.
While our Covent Garden theatre is the nerve centre, the impact and influence of the organisation can be felt in every corner of the country, and around the world.
None of this would be possible without the exceptional team of people who work here.
People are centre stage of everything we do at RBO, and our Human Resources department work across the organisation, ensuring that in every department we have to right people in place who are supported to deliver their work to their fullest capacity.
We are now seeking a proactive, organised and enthusiastic Recruitment Officer to join our small but dynamic Recruitment team, who are embedded in the wider HR department.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the RBO and support us to ensure we attract and retain the best talent in our workforce.
If you like the challenge of working across a varied portfolio, moving from large scale campaigns such as assessment centres for Front of House Ushers to supporting with unsighted Chorus auditions, from sitting on interview panels for lighting, costume and stage to admin functions such as IT, Finance and Operations then this is the role for you.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be passionate about people and opening access to opportunities with the RBO, acting as an advocate for careers.
You will be a positive and committed team player, with the ability to work autonomously and take direction as required.
Our ideal candidate will have: Experience of working on recruitment campaigns and a proven commitment to proactively promoting diversity and inclusion through recruitment (this could be in-house or agency) Strong organisational, time management and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines Excellent people skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation and build rapport quickly The ability to deal with people at all levels with tact and diplomacy, especially with regards to confidential information A firm commitment to delivering a high standard of service to both internal stakeholders and external customers The ability to work at pace in a changing and responsive environment whilst maintaining accuracy and strong attention to detail Prior knowledge of our art forms is not essential, though an interest in learning more about how a leading arts organisation functions is critical.
We welcome applications with transferable skills and value the diversity of thought varied experience can bring to our team.
If you would like a confidential conversation about the role, please contact Recruitment Manager, Emma Davies on The Royal Ballet and Opera is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment in which everyone can thrive.
We particularly welcome applications from those who are from a global majority background and/or those who are disabled, as they are under-represented within our organisation.

A full job description and RBO information pack is attached below.
If you have any access requirements for your application, please contact the Recruitment Team on Closing date for applications: 8am, Monday 2nd December 2024 Online first stage interviews will be held 5th/6th December with a 2nd stage in person at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden w/c 9th December 2024.
