Description The successful candidate will support the Recruitment Officer in managing the recruitment process at MidKent College, ensuring the best outcomes for our students and a smooth, positive experience for applicantsfrom identifying hiring needs to extending offers and assisting with onboarding.
Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to navigate multiple systems and manage several roles simultaneously.
Key responsibilities will include: ensuring job adverts are accurate and posted promptly, collaborating with hiring managers to gather information and schedule interviews, responding to candidate inquiries in a timely manner, and ensuring pre-interview paperwork is received and reviewed in compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024.
Main Responsibilities and Duties: Support the People Officer Recruitment in their role, including the ongoing development of the new Applicant Tracking system and its integration with HR systems, ensuring College processes are met and managers and staff are fully trained in any aspects that are introduced.
Deliver the staff recruitment and advertising process for the College in accordance with the College establishment, including checking authorisations, writing and placing adverts, organising interview and assessment centres, creating interview and assessment schedules and liaising with recruitment agencies, supporting recruitment events both inside and outside the College as required, processing vetting documentation, supporting the on boarding process in order to provide a high quality recruitment service.
This will include undertaking interviews as required.
Maintain accurate records and ensure information is collated in accordance with Data Protection legislation and relevant to the purpose for which it is needed, assisting with the accurate updating and recording of People Service activities/ information as directed by line manager and/ or senior People staff.
Update and maintain computerised systems, this will include updating the People pages on the College intranet as and when required.
Support the wider Shared Services team in producing electronic people documentation, including but not limited to job offers, contracts, variations to contracts, ensuring the accuracy and professional presentation of all such correspondence is maintained at all times.
Support and participate in the delivery of training on recruitment processes, systems and procedures as required, in order to support both managers and staff.
Actively participate in the delivering of the People Strategy Action plans, undertaking specific tasks, supporting the launch of initiatives, staffing stands and providing advice to staff on the facilities available such as well-being initiatives and staff discounts, in order to promote the benefits available to staff working at the College.
Play a key role in the vetting of short-listed candidates, that includes, but is not limited to sending out of references and online searches at the point of shortlisting.
Ensuring records and evidence is kept.
Track and monitor attendance to interviews for short listed candidates, ensuring confirmation of attendance has been obtained ahead of interviews and that the hiring managers are aware of this.
Support the People Shared Services Team with the vetting of successful candidates in line with the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance.
This will include, but is not limited to, references, online searches, DBS checks, barred list checks, prohibition checks and DBS checks.
