Principal Ecologist

Principal Ecologist Location: Remote Key Responsibilities: Project Management of UK Habitat Classification Surveys, (licenced) protected species surveys Building tenders and creating complex fee quotations at speed Producing complex technical reports (PEA reports, BNG reports, protected species reports, Habitat Management Plans, BREEAM reports, HRAs and EcIAs) Managing medium to large sized projects with ability to track financial progress Line management of junior ecologists Logistical and legislative problem solving Fully flexible working This role is a fully remote position, working from home and in the field in your local area.
You have the flexibility of managing your own time without having to visit an office location.
Are You Right for This Role ?
We welcome applications from Senior Ecologists or existing Principals who are looking for a change.
You must have full membership the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management - MCIEEM, a relevant bachelor's degree (or higher) and at least one protected species licence.
A Personal Track Safety accreditation would be a bonus.
In addition, all of the points below will be a massive bonus!
Have a desire for line management Construction/Civils background or knowledge of would be desirable Delivery phase project management experience Have an interest in Habitat Creation Excellent knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Prioritise workloads and complete tasks in a timely manner Have high attention to detail, especially in technical reporting A strength UK wildlife legislation and understand how to apply it correctly Have clear and consistent communication skills Be personable and a team player, even on tough days Hold a full UK driving license
