We are seeking an ambitious, high-performing individual to join our team in London.
As a Policy Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our members and influencing UK social care policy.
Location Homecare Association - Waterloo, SE1 8UL, London (2 days per week in the office, 3 days a week at home, with national travel to meetings and events as required).
Salary The salary for this role is £40K p.a.
Offers may be below or above this, depending on the extent of relevant skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities Build a comprehensive picture of the social and health care policy landscape in the UK so the Association is aware of emerging challenges and opportunities which may impact on members and the wider sector.
Develop detailed knowledge of issues related to key policy areas relevant to the Homecare Association and provide expert input and advice on these areas as required.
These include Workforce, Regulation, Innovation and Commissioning.
Bring insight, experience and expertise from your previous roles into our policy work.
Lead research on key issues or topics related to social care policy and practice.
Work closely with our members to understand what matters to them and inform the Homecare Association's work with these insights.
Provide practical support and advice to our members, including running trainings sessions where appropriate.
Person Specification An understanding of the issues affecting the social care and health system.
An interest in employment rights, regulation, and financial sustainability in homecare.
Experience of developing and managing relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Experience of, and the ability to persuade, influence and change the minds of decision makers.
Clear and confident communication skills, including excellent spoken and written English.
Numeracy skills, with the ability to analyse and report on qualitative and quantitative data.
Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to get results.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, with commitment to continuous professional development.
Strong alignment with the Association's principles of Integrity, Intelligence, Inclusiveness, Inspiration and Influence.
