The lawyers in our Litigation Directorate work on a wide range of high-profile cases, many involving questions of constitutional importance.
Our public law litigation practice focuses on judicial review challenges, while our private law practice represents the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Defence, and other large Government departments.
Your role As an Inquiry Lawyer, you'll join either the Covid Inquiry Division or the Public Inquiries, Reviews & Litigation team within the Home Office & Immigration Division.
You'll provide expert representation to Government parties at inquiries or legal advice and support to the inquiries themselves.
You will need security clearance; while the Baseline Personnel Security Standard is sufficient for most roles, Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) clearance may be required for some inquiries.
Candidates willing to seek SC and DV clearance are encouraged.
As an Inquiry Lawyer, you can work full-time, part-time, or as part of a job share, and travel may be required for some roles.
About you To succeed in this role, you should have a sound understanding of public law, experience with public inquiries, and the ability to see legal issues in their wider context.
