Supercharge our Practices and Policies Reporting to the CFO, the Legal Operations Specialist will coordinate our operations function, and additionally focus on our Legal and Compliance processes.
You'll also collaborate with other associated stakeholders to improve the operational efficiency of the business.
As our Legal Ops Specialist, you'll be the main point of contact for internal stakeholders on contractual matters across the business, from policy through to regulatory efforts.
You'll also manage the relationship with our external advisory firms as required.
What Makes This Role Special Broad Oversight : Subject matter expert on legal matters cross-functionally - no two days will be the same Direct Strategic Influence : Your insights and coordination will directly shape the our operations function's approach to a broad range of tasks across Finance, Legal, and Compliance Cross-Functional Improvements : Work directly with Product, Marketing and Engineering, Security and CS leaders to improve processes and ensure compliance Scale & Growth : Support the largest Shopify app used by 430k+ merchants globally – and growing Represent Judge.me : Responding to merchant queries around our T&Cs What You"ll Do Champion Regulatory & Legal Compliance : Represent the business with robust knowledge of GDPR, DPA and FTC guidelines, and responding to queries associated with our terms, conditions, and policies Drive Operational Excellence : Use your combined experience in operations and legal to coordinate and suggest optimisation opportunities in line with business objectives Oversee Operational Project Management : Supporting the CFO to coordinate the work of the Finance and Operations team on a variety of projects Ad-hoc Project Management : Support the wider Operations and Finance function by driving initiatives related to process efficiencies, suppliers and systems Ops Vendor Management and Procurement : Review, renew and negotiate contract with subscriptions and service providers What You"ll Bring Must-Haves Degree in Law or equivalent experience, with a specific understanding of both commercial law and data protection law Understanding of GDPR, DPA AND FTC Guidelines 3-5 years of experience in Legal Ops or equivalent Experience with process improvements and project management Prior experience in or around startups/scale ups Nice-to-Haves Experience in an e-commerce / tech business Understanding of the Consumer Protection Act Prior experience managing an external advisory firm / relationship Experience in a broader business operations role Why This Role Matters Judge.me is very ambitiously chasing our vision of Bridging the Trust Gap and sees this role as pivotal to our success.
