The Role: We are seeking a top-performing, smart and motivated individual to join our legal team in London. You will work with the legal team and the wider company to deliver growth against ambitious targets (>doubling each year), support YouLend's business in the UK, US and Europe.
If you have 3+ years of PQE with experience in commercial, finance, corporate and/or fintech practice and are looking for an opportunity to grow within a supportive and knowledgeable team environment, this could be a great opportunity for you. The role is varied and will require you to develop capabilities across product, tech, commercial negotiation, investor relations (debt and equity), regulatory, project management and stakeholder management. You will: Work closely with the legal team and business to find innovative and business friendly solutions, e.g., ensuring swift merchant onboarding, developing legal processes across geographies as well as contributing and driving legal product development Support the sales and partnership teams negotiating major partnerships for YouLend, including participating in the RFP / term sheet process and drafting/updating bespoke agreements. Some of YouLend's partners include Amazon, Dojo, eBay, Mollie, Paysafe, and Shopify. Support the capital markets teams on existing and new capital mandates Support the product team on YouLend' s existing products and the development of new products Draft, review and negotiate agreements, contracts, amendments and other legal documents Respond to ad hoc legal queries from the business, providing appropriate legal solutions Develop and deliver legal trainings across various teams in the organisation Help supervise and mentor junior members of the legal team Ensure successful go live with partners Ensure successful roll-out in new geographies Work with external counsel across jurisdictions to ensure YouLend's regulatory compliance and manage counsel effectively where they are engaged in connection with specific projects, while establishing your own strong domain expertise. Provide expert and strategic legal advice to the General Counsel and executive management You have: 3+ years of relevant post-qualification experience either in-house or in private practice, with a focus on commercial, finance, corporate and/or fintech practice UK, US or EU-qualified lawyer in good standing with experience working in the UK, US and/or EU A keen interest in Fintech and YouLend's products Knowledge and understanding of commercial transactions, corporate law and cross-border transactions Ability to manage complex projects involving coordination across multiple time zones, challenging legal issues and tight deadlines Ability to exercise initiative and drive effective internal decision making across complex workstreams to enable Youlend to meet its long-term goals Highly driven and proactive. Must be keen to create process and structure and strive for continuous improvement Must be flexible, able to multitask, detail-oriented, and enjoy fast paced and high-intensity work, bias to action and "get things done fast"-mentality Exposure to a broad range of commercial and technology law issues and experience across a range of commercial contracts and the ability to analyse and identify the core legal issues Adaptability and willingness to roll sleeves up and get involved with all parts of the business is a key requirement Desire for a broad variety of work and willingness to learn rather than focus in a specific area of law A fast, self-driven learner who can gain rapid familiarity with complex products, solutions and legal frameworks and maintain knowledge of those changing products, solutions and legal frameworks Solutions orientated with excellent time management, planning and organisational skill The following would be useful: Experience in business finance/ fintech / high-growth tech or working in a scale-up business / fintechWhy join YouLend?
