Customs Manager Sector: Food Packaging Location: Kent Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £34,400 per annum Shifts: Monday to Friday ISQ Recruitment is working with a reputable food packaging business in Kent seeking an experienced Customs Manager to join the team.

Role Summary Responsibility for the overall Customs Handling and HMRC Clearance of Deep-Sea Containers & Road Freight, together with management of Container Transportation and POs data management in the internal MRP system.
Ensure containers delivered in appropriate timeframes to ensure no demurrage charges applies.
Main Responsibilities • Engage in effective and efficient communication to set all expectations with customers, vendors, shippers, carriers, and all involved parties throughout the process.
• Communicate and liaise with Warehouse Team weekly and daily plan regarding container arrivals.
• Create container arrival folders containing all necessary HMRC Customs Handling documentation.
• Create and maintain Purchase Orders for Warehouse, maintain POs data and proceed with any amendments where required.
• Plan potential arrivals according to Shipment Schedulers and Customer needs.
• Verify key data elements for entry in adherence to Federal / International regulations.
• Complete HMRC CHIEF Declarations (Road Freight).

Qualifications & Skills • At least 2 years' experience in handling customs in a similar industry.
• Excellent administrative, organisational, and planning skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Able to make confident and effective decisions.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Able to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment.
