You'll be part of an award-winning and vibrant team focused on international sales of books in the English language.
Our focus is on maximising the global reach of our fantastic publishing programme and fostering strong relationships with partners throughout the world.

Your role:
As the International Sales Manager – North America, you'll be an integral part of the International Sales Team.
As our primary liaison for Macmillan US and PGC Canada, you'll play a key role in managing all facets of our day-to-day interactions with our partners in the region to grow our sales.
You will forge strong relationships, align on sales targets and priorities, and support the development of cohesive marketing and publicity campaigns.
The role reports into the International Sales Director, Exclusive Markets, and you will be responsible for executing a successful strategy within those regions, driving sales across all imprints.
This is an exciting and multifaceted role which has a tangible impact on our overall success as a team.

Your key responsibilities: Main sales contact for Macmillan US and our Canadian distributor PGCDevelop and implement strategy for new titles and backlist to drive ambitious growthWork alongside internal and freelance publicity/marketing partners in the US and Canada to help generate and effectively communicate marketing and publicity exposureWork closely with the Adult and Children's Rights Teams to clear books for distributionManagement of International Sales Executive for North AmericaWork directly with Scholastic in the US and Canada to generate new projectsFederal responsibility – attending various publishing meetings such as covers, acquisitions and investmentCollaborate with the Digital Manager to implement promotions and drive sales with digital retailers in the territoryEssential experience, abilities and knowledge you'll need to succeed: Publishing sales experienceOutstanding communication, sales, and pitching skillsAbility to multitask, juggle a busy workload, and stay calm under pressureAbility to communicate confidently and build strong working relationships, both internally and externallyFlexibility, adaptability, and the capacity to react quickly when requiredAmbitious, positive and a team playerExperience managing, and delivering on, a budgetPassion for booksDesirable skills we'd love you to have: Familiarity with the North American book marketHave used or are familiar with Google Suite (Gmail and Google applications)Knowledge of the Pan Macmillan listWhat you'll get in return:
