3 months contract with a Local Authority Job Summary: As a Housing Needs Reviews Officer you will be working with colleagues in the housing needs reviews team to ensure overall team targets are achieved.
Key Duties/Accountabilities To assist the housing needs group to improve its services by investigating and responding to enquiries from Members/MP s and formal complaints.
To carry out statutory reviews of decisions under the Housing Act 1996 as amended by the Homeless Reduction Act 2017 (both Part VI and Part VII reviews).
To have direct communication with customers and their elected or other representatives including lawyers and advocates.
Also close liaison with officers and managers within the housing needs group to ensure and promote good understanding of the group s work and services.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
Carry out homeless reviews under Part VII of the Housing Act as amended by the Homeless Reduction Act 2017.
Investigate and respond to complaints and respond to MP and Councillor enquiries about housing need applicants.
Essential Experience Required: Significant experience of carrying out homeless reviews under Part VII of the Housing Act as amended by the Homeless Reduction Act 2017 is essential.
Essential Qualification Required: General education qualification is essential.
