Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and reliable Healthcare Assistant to join our forward thinking, friendly team.Working under the direct supervision of the practice nurses and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
Main duties of the job Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs to include:-PhlebotomyBlood Pressure MonitoringChaperoning dutiesPerforming ECGsAssisting with wound care clinicRemoving sutures and staplesSome injectable medications (such as flu vaccinations)Patient health checksProcessing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nursesSterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment and clinical facilities before, during and after patient contactVaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recordingSurgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotationRaising awareness of health and well- being and collecting patient information and health valuesThe job description may be amended and this list is not exhaustive.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Relevant qualification in venipuncture.
Good standard of general education.
Knowledge & Skills Essential Venipuncture.
Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
