Health Innovation Networks were established 10 years ago as the innovation arm of the NHS both locally with our system partners and working together nationally as a HIN Network.
We are appointing to a new role of Director of Corporate and Development.
An experienced leader from a health or life science background, you will have a track record for collaboration and network building, and an ability to juggle a complex and diverse portfolio.
We are a small team and you will be close to the delivery of our work with an ability to lead and motivate a team of highly skilled innovators and improvers at the top of their game.
We serve a range of organisations in the West of England health and wealth ecosystem with a geography that spans three Integrated Care Systems with a combined population of million.
At the heart of our operating model is our local innovation pipeline that drives the discovery, development and deployment of innovations responding to local system priorities.
Working as part of our Executive Team you will support all aspects of delivery, governance and development.
Main duties of the job Corporate Team leadership supporting the delivery of our complex national and local work programmes Ensuring compliance with the relevant policies and procedures of the RUH Trust including finance, procurement, recruitment, and HR; provides senior interface with relevant Trust Directors and service leads Corporate Governance including support to the HIWE Partnership Board Overseeing all our operating systems and ensuring they are fit for purpose for optimum delivery Leading on business planning, workforce and Organisational Development, finance and budgetary control and planning Leading on the development of our organisation Leading on business development and bid writing Reporting and assuring all our commissioners and key stakeholders in accordance with our operating licence and commissions.

We connect and collaborate with our local NHS and care organisations and universities, and with industry partners, the third sector, and researchers to support transformation across whole health and social care systems, with a clear focus on improving outcomes for citizens.
We are an NHS organisation and employment with our Health Innovation is through the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust.
With headquarters in, Filton Bristol, we support agile working including the opportunity to work from home, and welcome applications from applicants seeking remote working opportunities.
You will need to be able to travel to one of our office bases or occasionally to other locations within our geography and nationally for in-person meetings and events.

Person Specification Qualifications & Training Essential Educated to Masters level or equivalent Evidence of continued professional and managerial development Desirable Qualification in HR, finance, procurement, contract management, IG or Company Secretary Programme Management qualification Knowledge & Experience Essential Demonstrable working knowledge of health and life sciences industry sectors, the NHS and Higher education Experience of senior operational delivery in an NHS or social care setting Evidence of the effective application of financial and business acumen in complex problem solving Experience of running or working with a PMO Demonstrable experience of leading significant change programmes in a clinical setting Experience of working in a "Network" where levers to get things done are not always directly owned or commissioned Strategic thinker with proven ability to direct strategy development Proven track record of organising and directing delivery of operational plans in a complex environment oHighly competent at behaviour management and brokering solutions with a diverse range of interests and organisations across sectors and a wide geography Desirable Experience at Director level in an organisation Values Essential Commitment to creating a working environment where staff are valued, and their well-being is promoted and improved.

Full driving licence Occasional requirement for intense concentration , reviewing business cases, performance reports, minimum data set entries Office work involving restricted position when inputting at a keyboard, reading reports, and participating in lengthy video conference calls frequently with back-to-back scheduling on most days Requirement to be seated while travelling via car and public transport for regional and national journeys Imparting unwelcome news, where performance targets not met or organisational change Regular use of specific software relating to oversight of the innovation pipeline, including the local Customer Relationship Management platform, and the national digital platforms relating to local programmes tracker and real world validation database Requirements due to Working Environment Essential Ability to work in an agile way - both remotely and face to face on a regular basis Requirement to use VDU more or less continuously on most days Frequent travel in the South West and nationally, including overnight stays at other venues for attendance at meetings and conferences Operating in a complex and ambiguous business environment.
