We require a Full-time Housekeeper on Ward A600 (Adult General Intensive Care Unit) to help us maintain a safe, tidy and efficient environment on our busy unit.The full-time position consists of 7.5 hours a day Monday-Friday.
Working times are 7am until 3 pm.As a Housekeeper on ward A600, you will work in a supportive role, assisting the clinical nursing team to ensure the department runs smoothly.You will need to be flexible, adaptable and have strong organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills are important as you will be liaising with teams throughout the hospital whilst working closely with the nursing team.
You will be responsible for working as part of a team to order and organise ward stock, as well as an array of non-clinical tasks with additional duties as directed by the nursing/support staff.You will also be patient facing, taking patient food orders in the morning and ensuring this is done in a timely manner.
You will also be assisting the meal service to patients and ensuring this runs smoothly and caters for all patients needs.In addition, the role involves ward cleaning of clinical equipment - keeping the area tidy and clean, this is essential to maintaining the ward's high cleanliness audit scores.Experience in Housekeeping is desirable but not essential.
You must have strong organisation, communication, IT and time management skills and be able to be innovative with a zest for new challenges as the department grows and develops new services.
