Closing date: 19th November 2024 Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 dependent on experience (+bonus +benefits) Location: The role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.

Piatkus Fiction is in an incredibly exciting period of growth and we are looking for an energetic, organised and dynamic Editorial Director/Publishing Director to play a key role in shaping the future of the imprint.
This role is best suited for someone with several years of publishing experience who is looking for a new challenge.
Areas of responsibility Managing a list of commercial fiction authors Acquiring new projects Helping to select and support priority titles across the Piatkus list and developing commercial fiction IP This role will report to the Fiction Publisher and will work closely with the Piatkus editorial team.
Who we're looking for You will be an enthusiastic champion of your books from conception through to publication and beyond – collaborating closely with colleagues across the business to bring those books to market.
You will have a proven track record of successful publishing, excellent relationships within the industry (both in the UK and internationally), strong negotiation skills, experience in IP development and you will be proactive in seeking out new opportunities for the list.
You will be equally comfortable growing the careers of established authors as spotting the bestsellers of the future, taking a commercial, creative and forward-thinking approach to building your list.
