Daisy ward is a 10 bedded burns unit including a 6 bedded Neurosurgical, Trauma and Burns High Dependency Unit.
For burns we are the regional centre covering the entire south west of the U.K. We are also the regional Paediatric Major Trauma Centre with many of these patients treated on the High Dependency Unit.

Ideal candidates will: Be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skillsHave the ability to forge and maintain relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff.Have the ability to manage a busy workload and to prioritise, quickly find solutions and to focus on the important issues when decision making is essential.
Have a passion for education.
The successful candidate will:Be supported in leading a team of nursing staff to develop both personally and professionally.Have evidence of effective leadership, clinical credibility and have experience of working at a Band 5 level or above.
Clinical From a clinical, educational and professional perspective, guide and direct nursing staff to ensure each individual's full potential is reached.Provide clinical skills, educational support and direction to new staff and learners to enable the on-going delivery of high quality care to the children and their families.Through working with new staff directly link theory to practice within the clinical setting, and ensure accurate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care delivery.Act as a knowledge resource for members of the multidisciplinary team on a day to day basis.Support others in developing and updating clinical guidelines for multidisciplinary use.Act as a role model clinically by ensuring own practice is of a high standard.Take a leading role in introducing and supporting nursing developments within the department, together with enhancing evidence based practice.
