We are looking for an experienced senior nurse to fill the role of Director of Nursing in Medicine.You will be accountable for the direct delivery of nursing services within the Division and will provide the vision and support to the Divisional Chair and Director in ensuring the development of nursing to meet the current and future requirements within the Division.
You will be responsible for ensuring that our patients receive safe exceptional care every day across a wide range of services.
This includes the adult emergency department, the inpatient wards and the elective and outpatient services.
Ensure that divisional/hospital professional objectives are consistent with organisational and corporate professional strategy and policy.Work consistently with other Directors of Nursing, Midwifery and Director of AHPs across divisional boundaries, in order to facilitate effective working between services and patient pathways.To support the Chief Nursing Team by deputising for the Chief Nurse and Midwife / or Deputy Chief Nurse in their absence and representing them externally as required.To take the corporate lead on an agreed work stream / activity.To ensure that nurses in the Division/Hospital work collaboratively with cross cutting care pathway leads and the clinical reference group.To take part in the trust-wide adult services on call rota and divisional silverrota.To work in partnership with teams at Weston Hospital to support integration of Bristol and Weston services.
