About the Role: An international law firm is seeking a talented and driven Construction Litigation Associate with 3+ PQE to join its London office.
The successful candidate will work as part of a highly regarded specialist construction team, providing comprehensive legal solutions across a wide spectrum of construction projects, both domestic and international.
Key Responsibilities: - Managing a caseload of contentious construction matters, including disputes under the Pre-action Protocol for Construction and Engineering Disputes.
- Handling TCC litigation, mediation, adjudication, and ideally, arbitration.
- Advising clients on a range of disputes involving payment issues, change, defects, termination, and professional negligence.
- Applying a strong understanding of standard forms of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC.
- Supporting clients such as property owners, developers, funders, contractors, sub-contractors, construction/design consultants, and insurers.
- Taking responsibility for the conduct of cases, working closely with partners and clients to achieve successful outcomes.
- Assisting with disputes related to insurance coverage issues.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing clear and commercially focused advice.
Candidate Profile: - Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales with at least 3 years PQE in contentious construction law.
- Previous experience working in a large firm with an established construction team is essential.
- Practical experience of TCC litigation, mediation, and adjudication, with exposure to arbitration being advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of the most popular standard forms of construction contracts.
- Experience in handling disputes related to payment, change, defects, termination, and professional negligence.
- Some experience in advising on insurance coverage issues is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills and a client-centric approach.
- Proven ability to take responsibility for cases and work collaboratively within a team.
