Job summary North Bristol NHS Trust are looking for 2 x Clinical Fellow posts in Anaesthetics (ST3-5) and or/intensive careto commence from Feb 2025 for a period of 12 months.
These posts have 20% fully remunerated protected time allocated to them for personal professional development.

Intensive Care Medicine The successful candidate will be working as an ST 3-5 anaesthetist.
The clinical component of the post will include participation in an on-call rota.
Main duties of the job NBT covers all surgical specialties except cardiac, ENT and paediatrics.
These include general surgery (upper and lower GI and Bariatrics), urology, orthopaedics (elective primary, revision joint replacement, complex spinal and pelvic surgery as well as trauma), plastics and burns, breast, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynaecology and vascular surgery (including 100 renal transplants annually).
Robotic surgical services are provided by urology, lower GI and Gynaecological surgery.
NBT has a large theatre complex operating over 2 levels of the Brunel building and a separate obstetric and gynaecology complex.
This includes specialist areas for interventional radiology and MRI scans.
The 48 bedded Critical Care Unit is divided into four 12 bedded pods and is situated adjacent to the emergency theatres, emergency department and is a regional centre for several specialist services including neurosurgery, renal medicine, plastics, burns, orthopaedics, vascular and is one of the two Major Trauma centres in the SW, serving the Severn Network.
The obstetric unit is one of the largest in the UK with over 6,000 deliveries annually, performing 1100 Caesarean sections and 1500 epidurals each year.
There is also a neonatal intensive care unit on site.
There is a national prize-winning acute pain and outreach team, chronic pain services including interventional procedures and a perioperative assessment service.

Training Recognition The Anaesthetic department is recognised by the Royal College of Anaesthetists and GMC for training at stage 1, 2 and 3 training.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Full Registration with GMC Desirable Full FRCA Training and Experience Essential Recent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent).
Minimum of 2 years anaesthetic experience in an approved training post (or equivalent) Further Training, Management, Audit Essential Evidence of recent CME/ reasonable training progression at this stage of career.
Desirable Experience in audit project Research, Teaching, Publications Essential Proven teaching ability.
Desirable Willingness to be involved in an audit , teaching and research Personal Requirements (eg.
Communication Leadership Skills, Flexibility) Essential Good written and verbal communication skills.
Evidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels.
