We are seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) to lead critical work in assessing and resolving housing disrepair issues.
In this role, your expertise will directly impact the quality of life for tenants, ensuring that their homes are safe, habitable, and compliant with legal standards.
About the Role : As a Building Surveyor , you will play a vital role in identifying and addressing defects in residential and commercial properties, in accordance with Section 11 of The Landlord and Tenant Act.
You will have the opportunity to work autonomously, conducting inspections, preparing reports, and making expert recommendations that will improve living conditions for tenants.
Your work will ensure that landlords meet their legal obligations, creating safer, healthier environments for those in need.
Key Responsibilities : Conduct unsupervised property inspections, assessing housing defects and disrepair.
Work closely with solicitors, expert witnesses, and other surveyors to build comprehensive reports and solutions.
Provide expert analysis and recommendations for rectifying defects that affect tenants' well-being.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in both verbal and written reports.
Collaborate with a professional team, while taking ownership of your work and showing initiative.

What We're Looking For : MRICS qualified, with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
Strong background in social housing, with experience working for a local authority or housing association preferred.
Proficiency in housing disrepair and defect analysis, with the ability to prepare witness statements and expert reports.
Self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and a sense of humour to contribute to a positive, professional environment.
