Biodiversity Net Gain Specialist

We're looking for a skilled Biodiversity Net Gain Specialist to join our innovative team.
As a leader in biodiversity conservation, we're seeking a passionate and proactive individual to contribute to our growth.
Key Responsibilities: Manage projects focused on achieving biodiversity net gain.
Provide expert advice on biodiversity conservation to internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and implement biodiversity strategies aligned with regulations and best practices.
Build relationships with local authorities and conservation organisations.
Collaborate with other professionals to integrate biodiversity into projects.
Prepare technical reports for planning submissions and habitat management plans.
Stay informed about emerging trends in biodiversity conservation and planning policy.
Mentor and support junior staff in understanding biodiversity planning processes.
Qualifications and Experience: Degree in environmental science, ecology, planning, or a related field.
Full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
At least 5 years of experience in environmental planning, with a focus on biodiversity.
Strong understanding of biodiversity legislation and policies.
Proven experience in managing biodiversity net gain projects and using tools like the Statutory Metric.
Familiarity with ecological principles, habitat assessments, and species surveys.
Excellent communication skills to explain technical information to various audiences.
Experience working with government bodies and local authorities.
Proficiency in planning software like GIS and ecological modelling tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
