Hasbro European Services provides various services to Hasbro business units in Europe and the Middle East and Africa.
Legal counsel in Hasbro's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Legal team, with primary focus on commercial contracts in all relevant territories.
Within the framework of the International Legal Department, to provide consistent and efficient support to the EMEA business on a broad range of legal matters, with a primary focus on commercial contracts, supervised by more senior members of the Legal team on more complex matters and assisted by external counsel when needed.
Reports to Managing Attorney, EMEA Legal.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Draft, review and/or negotiate commercial contracts such as customer trading terms, agency agreements, promotional/marketing agreements, distribution agreements, services agreements.
Assist the work of the EMEA Legal Team, including: Support to Quality Assurance in managing product compliance queries and issues, including monitoring communications with local market surveillance authorities.
Management and reporting on litigation matters as they arise, assisted by external counsel as necessary.
Assisting HR on employment issues or complex queries and review of HR policies.
Business and corporate reorganizations.
Tax/customs inquiries/audits.
Monitoring delivery of marketing and advertising plans to ensure compliance with local regulations and internal requirements.
Monitoring legal risks across the region and ensuring those risks are appropriately mitigated and appropriate controls implemented and enforced.
Upkeep and education of the Business on legal developments and compliance rules, including antitrust, anti-bribery and corruption and privacy; In collaboration with the appropriate business and corporate stakeholders, create, draft, maintain and roll out legal policies and procedures.
Draft or localise standard templates as appropriate.
Such other duties as maybe specified by the Legal Department.
Some travel may be required.
INTERNAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Corporate Global Practice Groups and Regional Legal Department; Local, Regional and Corporate Business Units, including Sales, Marketing, HR, Quality Assurance, Operations and Tax QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of post-qualification experience gained in a law firm and/or in-house.
Legal degree required; license to practice law in a major European jurisdiction.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS/ ATTRIBUTES Proactive, result-oriented and agile thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Additional European language a bonus.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and/or within a matrix structure.
Some experience working with management.
