The Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) is seeking to recruit an Administrative Officer who will be a key member of the Young Lives team, providing administrative support across the whole Young Lives programme.
The post-holder will report directly to the Young Lives Programme Manager, working across all Young Lives team functions, including supporting key tasks set by the Senior Management Team.
Key Responsibilities: •Co-ordinate general administration across Young Lives.•Act as a point of contact for general enquiries and postal correspondence.•Provide logistical support for Young Lives staff travel.•Prepare volunteer and academic affiliation applications in liaison with Senior Researchers and the ODID Research Support team.• Support the Young Lives Programme Management team with the administration of current project grants.•Undertake day-to-day financial administration in line with University and funder guidelines.•Support the set-up and administration of contracting consultants and external suppliers.•Provide administrative support for new staff and leavers.•Support the Young Lives Communications team with website administration; the organisation, storage and presentation of Young Lives documents, publicity and photographs; and the dissemination of newsletters and publications, as required.•Disseminate and archive Young Lives publications and journal articles to the correct sources (British Library; ORA, Nielson Book Data; e-alerts), ensure all publications meet UK accessibility requirements, and maintain a database of research papers in progress.•Support the organisation of Young Lives webinars, events and conferences, as required.
This role is full time and fixed term until 31 December 2025.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent working experience.
They will also have a high degree of computer literacy and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
This includes the ability and enthusiasm to proactively manage and prioritise a varied and busy workload, and work to deadlines.
An interest in international development is an advantage.
