Main Purpose of the Job To support the chemistry laboratories and aid the smooth running of lab operations.
This role could suit someone who is looking to get into a laboratory role and potentially has experience of working in a warehouse environment and/or hospitality.
The most important requirement is a 'can do' attitude Role and Responsibilities To support the chemistry laboratories and aid the smooth running of lab operations by... - Performing regular checks of fumehood airflows, weighing balances and emergency eye wash showers.
- Replenishing stock of consumable items, solvents and dryice within the lab.
- Clearing away glassware - Cleaning the floors, sinks and maintaining tidy bench areas.
- Updating maintenance logs.
Administrative duties such as… - Organising waste collections with an external provider for general waste and specialist waste.
- Ordering and maintaining a stock of lab coats.
- Managing our inventory system (using SAP) including booking in new materials, booking out used materials and performing stock checks.
- Reviewing invoices for payment (using Mfiles) Line management duties… - Management & supervision of junior laboratory technician staff.
