Full-Time Teaching Assistant Supporting a Year 5 Pupil (Wheelchair User) and Providing Year 6 Classroom Assistance We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 6 pupil who is a wheelchair user, as well as assist in the Year 6 classroom.
This is a full-time position, offering an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in a child's educational journey while supporting a dynamic teaching team.
Key Responsibilities Provide tailored support to a Year 6 pupil with mobility needs, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and participate in school activities.
Assist with personal care, mobility, and physical support as required.
Support the Year 6 teacher with classroom activities, group work, and administrative tasks.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction for the pupil.
Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the pupil's individual learning plan (ILP).
Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all pupils.
What We're Looking For Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, supporting children with physical disabilities.
A positive, patient, and empathetic approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt to the varying needs of students and the school environment.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
Experience in personal care or physical support (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
