We are working with an established organisation in the manufacturing sector who are looking to employ a Yard Operations Manager, permanently, in the Sevenoaks area.
This is on-site and a great position for someone with a calm proactive, problem-solving demeanour, the ability to manage stock control processes, and to manage working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

The key responsibilities include: Establish/maintain high standards of product delivery processes/procedures.
Direct/control the use of the yard to ensure maximum use of available space and a safe, efficient, and profitable operation which meets customer and business needs at all times.
Oversee the yard operation to ensure that all loads are compliant, safe and vehicle on site times are within the agreed KPI times.
Provide advice to company managers, supervisors and staff on Yard space utilisation, ensuring production is both reported and located correctly.
Maintain all necessary records of goods stored and despatched ensuring physical stock matches with stock reports at all times.
Liaise on a daily basis with the Production Team to ensure that production, customer services and haulier operations are in alignment that there is effective coordination of all operations and that customer requirements are met.
Identify and implement projects relating to the use of the yard to enhance continuous improvement on operational effectiveness.
Uphold and enforce rigorous housekeeping standards with regards to the yard.
Ensure that vehicle load fill is maximised at all times.
Liaise with 3rd parties that attend site to ensure they are compliant with site.
Assess the urgency of issues that occur, addressing to ensure operation efficiency and escalate as necessary.
Attend all site relevant meetings such as H&S and BSI Audit Reviews.
Effectively manage the Yard Operations team with regular 1 to 1's, including supervisors to ensure that they are trained to the required standard.
You will develop the yard operatives to ensure that they are multi skilled, motivated and able to carry all roles required within the Yard Function.
Support the Yard Operations team by managing various aspects of employee relations and people management, with the support of HR when relevant, including but not limited to Return-to-Work Interviews, Investigations and performance management.
Ensure all daily reports up to date and remain accurate.
Attend Daily Production Meeting as and when required.
Support the Head of Yard Operations in all aspect of Yard Operations.
The requirements for this role: Possess a solid secondary education, including Maths and English and Higher education level qualification, for example A Level, BTEC, etc.
Demonstrable experience in a Yard Management role.
Educated to degree level in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics of Transport Management or relevant subject is desired.
Middle management certification, e.g.
Level 4/5 ILM, CMI Management & Leadership is desirable but not essential.
Strong problem-solving abilities Recognised Health and Safety qualification, e.g.
IOSH, BEBOSH or NVQ is desired but not essential.
An experienced people manager - able to motivate and lead a team.
Forklift licence (e.g.
B1 or B2) is desirable but not essential.
Highly proficient in spoken and written English, with excellent communication.
Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
A team player with a professional conduct and problem-solving skills and who has a proactive, "can-do" approach.
You must demonstrate empathy, active listening, and a commitment to fostering positive relationships.
