Job Purpose / Summary To supervise and co-ordinate the smooth logistical operation of the Workshop and ensure that all related jobs are carried out efficiently and safely and that all employees and you follow the K&N Company process and standard protocols.
The management of communication and maintenance of accurate records and data on Emir is all imperative and to be followed at all times.
Responsibilities:Supervision of the KNM workshop.Supervision of all staff / welfare when working or in and around workshop.Oversee / accept and book in deliveries and organise deliveries.Full liaison with the K&N administration team.
To work closely with Project Managers with regards to any needs for machining, repairs or workshop related work requirements to assist in the site work progress / completion.Assist and control with health & safety Management (all PAT testing, all insurance, Allianz, ESS, tag certs etc for the workshop).Maintain all vehicles – control and supervision of vehicle check sheets - keep the fleet on the road.
Supervision and control of all COSHH / data sheets as required in workshop.Electronic file management as above.Use of the Emir system on all jobs process flow – all have job numbers associated – TBQ - evaluation, WIP, completed ready to invoice – liaise with admin.
Ensure all photos are taken on all jobs are saved in relevant drives on Emir along with the K&N administration team.Oversee the maintenance of all tooling and equipment in the workshop and for sitework.Update, review and control of workshop asset list.Compiling, modifying and maintaining Knowlton & Newman paperwork systems (in liaison with Maidstone management & HR).Supervision of Engineers when in workshop, welfare and workload.Organises daily operations and liaise with Project Managers.
Making sure all parts, tools and equipment are ready for Engineers on all jobs.Oversee and supervise the use of vehicles scheduling daily (liaise weekly).Use of forklift truck when required and daily safety checks and maintenance.Follow all health and safety procedures and wear the correct PPE at all times.Attend weekly management meetings and weekly WIP report meetings.Close supervision and inform / discuss with the KNM Manager with regards to Workshop Fitter's workload and weekly tasks.
To maintain a clean, tidy and safe workshop at all times.Organisation of deliveries to customers locations and collections when required from suppliers and / or customers.At the end of each day make sure workshop is left clean and tidy, and all equipment and RAMS required the next day to be ready for Engineers.Lead by example in all aspects of your work and in terms of respect for your colleagues.Manage unexpected occurrences by taking appropriate action, particularly in emergency situations.Control and supervise fire alarm procedures, roll calls and all tests.Carry out the monthly H&S inspections in the workshop.Carry out any other reasonable request from the management team in line with workload and necessary requirements to complete all work, site or workshop safely and in line with company / client expectations requirements.
Provide accurate assessments of works, and labour requirements to undertake remedial repairs.Oversee & provide correct identification of components on repair jobs.Building reports and providing summaries of equipment failings on customer equipment.Reporting of near misses / hazards.Ensure works are completed to budgeted labour requirements.Work a reasonable amount of overtime as required.
