Job Title: Web Designer / UI Designer (Salary: £45,000) Overview: We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Web Designer who can design and build exceptional digital experiences.
The ideal candidate will have strong design skills, be proficient in Figma, and be able to create scalable design systems.
You should be enthusiastic about working in a cross-functional team with developers and quality assurance (QA) professionals, and have experience with designing for web accessibility (WCAG 2.1/2.2).
Additionally, we value designers who can write HTML/CSS and are comfortable working in the browser.
Key Responsibilities: Use Figma for high-quality design work.
Develop design systems that can be applied across multiple websites.
Prioritize creativity while understanding technical constraints.
Ensure strong attention to detail in all aspects of design.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and other stakeholders.
Create web designs with a focus on accessibility (WCAG 2.1/2.2 compliance).
Desired Skills and Experience: Proficiency in HTML/CSS, with a preference for "designing in the browser."
Experience with web animation and effects to enhance user experience.
Familiarity with user research data and how to integrate insights into design (bonus if you're eager to conduct user research).
Strong understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2).
Ability to balance creativity with practical execution across multiple platforms.
Bonus Qualifications (Optional): Experience working with user research or conducting user testing.
Understanding of performance optimization and responsive design.
