Position: SEN Specialist Learning Assistant
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Sutton, London

With a collaborative SEN team, the school ensures that each child receives personalised support to develop their communication skills and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with speech and language difficulties, assisting them in developing communication skills.
Work closely with speech and language therapists, SENCO, and teachers to implement tailored learning plans and interventions.
Help adapt classroom activities and materials to meet the specific speech and language needs of students.
Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, the SENCO, and parents.
Support students in building confidence in both verbal and non-verbal communication.
Assist in the delivery of speech therapy exercises and communication strategies under the guidance of specialists.
Experience and Qualifications: Experience working with students with speech and language difficulties in a school or educational setting.
Knowledge of speech and language development and relevant SEN strategies.
A patient, nurturing approach with strong interpersonal skills to support students' communication needs.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents.
Relevant qualifications in SEN support, speech and language therapy, or teaching assistance are desirable.
A DBS check is required.
