Position: EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher
Location: Slough
School: Outstanding Ofsted Rated School
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our students whose first language is not English, helping them to integrate effectively into mainstream education and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver effective EAL lessons tailored to the needs of individual students.
Assess students' language proficiency and monitor their progress over time.
Collaborate with subject teachers to support EAL learners in accessing the curriculum.
Provide guidance and support to mainstream teachers on best practices for teaching EAL students.
Maintain accurate records of student development and participate in parent-teacher meetings as required.
Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Proven experience working with EAL students in a secondary school setting.
Strong understanding of different EAL teaching strategies and assessment methods.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Commitment to promoting equality and diversity within the school community.
Desirable Skills: Additional language proficiency relevant to the student demographics of the school.
Experience using educational technology and resources to enhance EAL learning.
Awareness of the latest developments in EAL pedagogy and educational policies.
