As a Water Quality Technician, you will play a crucial role in helping us provide the best service to our customers.
Working across the beautiful Yorkshire region, you will be part of a coordinated team responsible for inspecting and cleaning our service reservoirs.
Your role will include carrying out basic repairs and maintenance on assets, testing their integrity, and ensuring compliance with potable water quality standards and public health regulations.

Location: You will travel across the Yorkshire region daily for which a company vehicle is provided, as part of the role you will need your own vehicle/transport to travel to Eccup Water Treatment Works, Leeds but will then pick up a company vehicle to use as part of the role.

37 hours per week.
The working hours are 4 long days working between the hours of 07:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday, (either Mon-Th, or Tues-Fri).

As our Water Quality Technician, you will be responsible, as part of a coordinated team working across the Yorkshire region, for delivering the company's service reservoir inspecting and cleaning programme.
You will carry out basic repairs/maintenance on assets while testing their integrity, which will ensure potable water quality and public health compliance.
You will deliver asset and operational excellence, support regulatory compliance, operational integrity and resilience, while delivering excellent standards and performance in health and safety.
Where you fit in: As our Water Quality Technician you will
Service tank integrity inspections of potable water assets such as underground storage reservoirs and Water Towers, recording these on inspection reports and the company's Reservoir database Cleaning potable water storage tanks by operating plant and equipment (pumps, hoses, pressure washers and grounds maintenance equipment) in-line with procedures and training Undertaking maintenance and repair of plant and equipment Undertaking basic maintenance and repair of upstands and hatches Inspect and reporting faults on water mains air valves upstream of service reservoirs Basic maintenance of secondary chlorination units Report and rectify issues that might affect water quality/public health Prepare site packs for each job using IT systems/equipment What skills & qualifications you will need: The successful candidate will be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
You will be carrying out physically demanding work daily in service reservoir tanks which are cold, wet environments.
You will have previous experience/knowledge of working in an operational environment where Health and Safety is key.
Previous experience of using Plant Equipment, pumps, pressure washers, is advantageous, although full training will be provided. The role involves extensive manual handling, and you must be comfortable working in and entering confined spaces as well as working from height including Control of Works, all training will be provided. As part of this role, you will be required to work within confined spaces, any successful candidate must pass strict medical criteria including, BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests to ensure your full safety when working in hazardous environments.

There is a requirement to travel across the Yorkshire region daily, therefore a full valid UK driving licence is a requirement of this role, with no more than 6 points.
