Role Overview: The Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring they are carried out safely, cost-effectively, and efficiently.
Reporting directly to senior management, you will lead a dedicated team, including shift leaders, to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence in line with our ambitious e-commerce growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Excellence: Control all operational aspects to ensure safety, cost-efficiency, and effective processes.
Leadership: Mentor and inspire shift leaders, motivating the entire team to achieve individual and business goals.
Team Development: Lead by example, providing guidance, training, and support to develop your team.
Warehouse Management: Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient warehouse space you and your team can be proud of.
Process Improvement: Plan warehouse layout and product flow, recommending new equipment or systems to enhance operations.
Workforce Planning: Design work rotas, assign tasks effectively, and appraise team performance.
Returns Management: Oversee the returns team to ensure good products are returned to stock quickly and efficiently, while damaged items are managed and recycled appropriately.
Use insights from returns to contribute to wider business learnings on product quality.
Collaborate with customer service to ensure an excellent returns process for customers.
Budget Control: Manage budgets effectively, with specific focus on headcount planning and maintaining stock accuracy.
Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and enforcing safety standards and legal regulations.
Performance Reporting: Monitor, analyse, and report operational performance data to drive continuous improvement.
Customer Service Focus: Ensure operations consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
Skills and Qualifications: Experience in managing or working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Experience in FMCG and/or Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) settings is highly desirable.
Effective communication skills with a proven ability to motivate and manage teams.
Demonstrable knowledge of developing, training, and inspiring teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
IT literate, with experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Familiarity with Linnworks or similar Order Management Systems (OMS) is desirable.
Experience with ISO 9001 processes and standards is desirable.
Strong ability to produce, interpret, and report on operational performance metrics.
