Volunteer with UsHartford Care is looking for volunteers like you.
Many of our residents have lived in communities near to their respective care homes, and we believe that visits from local people and groups can be a huge mental and emotional boost.
This belief has fed our values of creating caring communities that are friendly, kind and welcoming to all.
Absolutely anyone can make a positive difference to the lives of our residents.
If you have a skill, hobby, or interest that you would like to share, or are willing to roll your sleeves up, we would love to hear from you!
Some of the things that our homes and residents would sincerely appreciate include: Spending time with residents whose families struggle to visit.
This could be anything; having a cup of tea and going through photos, 1 on 1 or group board games, playing or teaching a musical instrument, knitting together, everything is welcome Helping in our gardens; potting plants, sowing seeds, mowing lawns, weeding Driving a minibus (requires category D1 on license) or getting involved with outdoor activities Run an art and crafts workshop Bake or cook with residents Start up a book or crafts club Hours and days can be flexible to suit availability, it's your contribution that makes you special.
Our application process is simple, no need to worry about care qualifications or previous experience, to apply just reach out to our People & Culture team on 01256 383370.
They will arrange for you to complete an application form and will then carry out a free enhanced DBS check (if you're 17 years+).
After this it's time for introductions and getting to know the home and residents and start making a difference in their lives.
Requirements No previous experience is necessary to become a volunteer in one of our homes.
Our process for volunteering or work experience is: Complete an application form, Invite you in for a chat to get to know you, Carry out a free DBS check (if aged over 16), Invite you in for an induction to get to know our home and residents.
