Transport Planner

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Traffic Operator / Transport Planner to join our team, ensuring the seamless coordination of transport operations.
Key Responsibilities: ?Develop efficient daily transport plans, including the scheduling and routing of vehicles to meet customer requirements.
?Assign drivers to scheduled routes, ensuring they have all necessary instructions, and manage real-time adjustments as needed.
?Plan and optimize loads to maximize vehicle efficiency and minimize costs.
?Act as the primary contact for drivers, clients, and internal departments, ensuring clear and timely communication throughout the transport process.
?Proactively monitor trips to identify and resolve any operational issues, delays, or disruptions that may arise.
?Ensure that all transport operations comply with relevant transport legislation and company safety policies.
?Maintain accurate records of transport activities, updating the Transport Management System (TMS) and producing reports for management as required.
?Liaise with clients to update on delivery statuses, address any queries, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
?Work closely with the Traffic and Operations team to continuously improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
Requirements: ?Previous experience as a Transport Planner, Traffic Operator, or in a similar role within the transport or logistics industry.
?Strong understanding of UK routes and the logistics involved in container transport.
Competent in using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
?Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills to handle a dynamic workload.
?Ability to think quickly and find practical solutions to operational challenges.
?Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
?A collaborative and proactive approach to work, with a focus on achieving team and company goals.
?Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet operational demands.
Ability to work under stress.
