The successful applicant will undertake a Post Graduate Certificate (PG Cert) in Medical Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology .
Ultrasound training roles involve working across all UHBW sites, although the trainee will have a base site at St Michaels Hospital.The successful applicant will be expected to have a good honours degree in a relevant health care subject from a recognised institution of higher education, so as to meet the entrance requirements for post-graduate education, and at least one year of experience working as a healthcare professional within an NHS setting.The applicant should also be able to demonstrate experience working in, and knowledge of, NHS standards and practices, and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to CPD in a relevant healthcare setting.
To complete post graduate training in Medical Ultrasound to support Ultrasound services for both booked outpatients and Inpatients/EDWork under supervision from qualified sonographers and Radiologists to learn to effectively perform ultrasound examinations to a high standardLearn to provide free text reports to support ultrasound findings Take responsibility for the academic demands of the post graduate course with clinical aspects of the roleParticipate in regular feedback with sonographers and/ or a named clinical mentor to address any issues and put support in place where neededActively engage with CPD and be proactive and responsible for self-directed learningDevelop proficient IT skills in relation to Radiology Information Systems and patient data management University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, bringing together a combined workforce of over 13,000 staff and over 100 different clinical services across 10 different sites, serving a core population of more than 500,000 people across South West England.
