Thursday 5pm and Friday 4pm Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with a great SEN school based in Surrey.
The school are looking to recruit a HLTA with THRIVE /ELSA to join their passionate team at the school.
You will deliver interventions around emotional literacy and mental wellbeing.
The pupils who are at the school are mainly autistic students are aged between 11 – 16, they have associated behavioural and communication difficulties.
Some pupils may have multiple learning difficulties.
Key Duties: Pupil Welfare and Safeguarding Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school's policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.
Provide meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships and attitudes.
Monitor pupils conduct and behaviour throughout the learning process and intervene to resolve highly complex, difficult or very challenging issues and to keep records of incidents, health, behaviour etc.

Delivering interventions Plan and deliver individualised programmes of support for children to develop their emotional literacy, including: Awareness of own and other people's emotions Development of an increased range of emotional vocabulary Management of stress, grief, anxiety, anger and conflict Development of social interaction and friendship skills Promotion of a realistic self-concept and good self-esteem Qualifications GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
ELSA/THRIVE qualification desirable, if not already got must be willing to achieve in first 2 years in post.
Level 5 qualification related to the subject area desirable Mental health first aid training desirable The Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification, or demonstrate equivalent skill level.
