Job summary An exciting opportunity has become available within our Operating Theatres supply team in the role of Supplies Assistant.We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic team players to join our team to ensure the availability of equipment to support our 33 Operating theatres across Swansea Bay University hospitals.Knowledge of stock control is essential and experience of automated stock control systems would be desirable.You would be working across our three sites and with multi disciplinary teams to support our theatre teams provide Operations for our Patients.
Main duties of the job The post holder is required to unpack, check & sort theatre deliveries in a timely manner and place stock in required locations.
Assist the multi-disciplinary team in creating a safe environment for patients and staff within the operating department by ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in all areas.
Keep all storerooms/storage areas in a safe, orderly fashion.Develop a knowledge base of consumable requirements in all areas of theatre.
To check delivery notes and to ensure delivered quantities are correct and to highlight any discrepancies to the Theatre Supplies Manager.
To ensure goods are replenished in agreed locations in a timely manner paying attention to stock rotation and expiry date use a barcode scanner to order stock from Welsh Health Supplies weekly.
To assist with ordering clinical waste products and replenish & update stock levels within Omnicell stock management systems as required.
To assist the Supplies Coordinators with Cycle Counting Omnicell stockmanagement systems as required.
Identify and report any stock shortages and report to the Theatre SuppliesManager/Theatre Supplies coordinators.
The post holder will have a base hospital and can expect to work across any other of the hospital sites within the Health Board when required.
