Technical Yacht Manager

Working in conjunction with an international name in yacht management, we are pleased to bring this interesting opportunity to market.

As technical yacht manager, you will support the yachts assigned to you during operation, projects, maintenance periods and the planning of these to ensure the yachts operate reliably, within budget and to the standards required by the client.

Key responsibilities -
*Plan and manage major technical projects and maintenance periods to ensure a successful conclusion of the project or maintenance period.

*Provide technical support for all departments of the yacht, to the yacht's owners and associated professional support providers including insurers, lawyers and accountants as required by the yacht's management contract.

*Regularly checking the planned maintenance system of the assigned yachts to ensure maintenance and any issues are being correctly addressed.
Identify and proactively raise with the company and crew concepts and ideas that will benefit operation or build.

*Provide shoreside engineering support to managed technical fleet.
Liaise with Class and national administrations to ensure compliance with the required rules and regulations, including liaising with both entities for annual and special surveys, inspections, and to agree dispensations or approval of novel solutions where required.

*Reviewing budgets and managing costs with the Fleet Technical Manager and other team members.

*Regular communication with the managed yacht's crew to support in their running of the yacht.

*Developing and maintaining warranty or work list logs ahead of maintenance periods.
Researching the purchase of high-value equipment or parts.

*Provide technical support to other yachts in the wider fleet as required to cover colleagues' leave, sickness, absence etc.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
*Knowledge and experience of the marine engineering field, familiarity with marine engineering equipment, ship construction, maintenance requirements and Class society/Flag survey cycles.

* Ideally a former seafarer, sailing in a senior marine engineering rank, although applicants with suitable shoreside experience (in a marine technical role) will also be considered.

*Able to work independently within agreed objectives, taking personal responsibility for delivery.

*Highly motivated in providing exceptional levels of service.
Self-confident and an able speaker with excellent interpersonal skills.
High level of diplomacy to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with crew, suppliers and supporting service providers.

*Strong organisational skills, flexibility, and logic.

*Able to work confidently alone, as well as being able to work as part of a team.

* Competent in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook).

*Full driving licence and passport with the ability to travel internationally and the right to work in the UK.
