Technical Service Engineer

Are you an experienced Service Engineer who has great customer service skills? Do you enjoy diagnosing faults, analysing results and providing solutions? Do you have experience and knowledge from the paper producing industry?

This is a key role within a highly reputable business who offer custom-designed solutions in the production of paper, tissue and cardboard based products across the UK.

You'll be home-based and expected to manage your own diary and movements. You'll likely be on the road on average 3 days per week visiting customers on site.

What You Get A basic salary of up to £47k + bonus Company vehicle, mobile phone, laptop and credit card Excellent pension scheme Death in service Private Health Early finish on Fridays About You It is essential that you've got a strong working knowledge from the paper, tissue or packaging industry. You should have sound experience of reviewing machinery performance and be able to offer advice on optimisation and improvement of use. You should be analytical, process engineer trained and stand by 'the customer is always right' rule. You'll have experience in operating various types of test equipment. Due to the role covering the whole of the UK, it would be that your home location is in the Midlands or Greater Manchester. Your people-skills are second to none - you'll be 'confident, forthright and humble' in your approach to customers. As you'll be working from home, it is absolutely essential that you are self-motivated and flexible with your time. About The Job You'll join as a Technical Service Engineer. With your experience and knowledge from the paper processing and production industry, you'll be responsible for testing, measuring, analysing and reporting on customer machinery and service requirements. You will be responsible for your own diary and will arrange site visits with customers to review machine performance; offering guidance and solutions based on your findings following the machine survey. You'll collect and record data from the machines and carry out statistical analysis. Working collaboratively with the technical and sales teams at Head Office, you'll manage the customer expectations throughout the process. You will likely attend Head Office maybe twice per month in Manchester.
