Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Manchester About Us Our primary SEN school in Manchester is a dedicated and inclusive setting, providing tailored education and support to children with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech and Language Difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
We are committed to fostering a supportive and engaging environment where every child can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside skilled teachers and staff to support children with SEN in their learning and development.
This is an exciting opportunity to help children overcome challenges, build their confidence, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN, tailoring support to meet their individual needs.
Assist in delivering creative and engaging lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
Help pupils develop social, emotional, and life skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Manage challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement techniques.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents/carers, and the wider school team to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Support pupils with personal care needs, if required (training will be provided).
About You We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual who is: Experienced: Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a primary school or specialist setting, is highly desirable.
Patient: Calm, understanding, and able to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
Adaptable: Resourceful and able to respond to the changing needs of pupils.
Compassionate: Committed to supporting the emotional well-being and personal development of children with SEN. Team-Oriented: A great communicator who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
