Up To £120k DOE | Hybrid Working Options | Bristol Our client, one of the South West's leading Accountancy firms is seeking a Tax Director to join the team in Bristol. As Tax Director, you will take the lead in ensuring the staff under your responsibility are mentored, developed, and helped to thrive, in addition to supporting and mentoring more junior members of the management team with your strong technical knowledge.
This role offers hybrid and flexible working options.
Responsibilities for the Tax Director: Collaborate with GP Partners, Directors, and Managers to build a cohesive team, manage client portfolios, and lead client meetings to build trust and confidence. Provide technical leadership, review work of junior staff, handle HMRC correspondence, and ensure best practices in compliance. Lead tax planning projects, maintain a network of work referrers, generate marketing initiatives, and attend networking events to identify new opportunities. Manage financial aspects of client work, lead internal projects, and oversee the day-to-day management of the department, including staff development and internal training. The requirements for the Tax Director: Excellent technical knowledge in accounts preparation, tax compliance, and familiarity with personal and business tax regulations, VAT, and PAYE. CTA qualified, with a preference for ACA/ACCA qualifications. Strong planning, organization, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability, and excellent client service. Professional, personable, highly presentable, and punctual with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Familiarity with IT systems and understanding of statutory compliance issues such as GDPR, Money Laundering, Audit Independence, DPB, and Health and Safety at Work Act. Experience managing accounts staff, strong work ethic, ability to plan time efficiently. A full driving licence with unrestricted access to a car.
